The Mystical Network
It was more of a feature of my earlier Sex Mage World stories, but the "network of mystical strings" that Mages perceive has always been a fun idea that is hard to adequately visualize. It's a nebulously described 3D map of energy lines and knots like a cross between a spiders web, a circuit board, and a nervous system model.
The Mages don't literally "see" the network, and it's like a psychic metaphor they see in their minds eye, similar to how they can likewise "hear" the arousal of a man by sensing his erection as a sort of hum, or "see" it as a glow, or "feel" it like a sort of heat or static pressure. Even these are not accurate or adequate descriptions, as "Sex Sense" is a whole other sensory input that really doesn't have a direct correlation to any of our mundane senses.
The special effect above isn't quite accurate, but probably the closest to it I could find in Honey Select.
